How I Work
Philosophy & Approach
Taking that first step toward beginning your healing journey can feel overwhelming, however it’s a step well worth the investment! It’s my hope that I can assist you in this journey by creating and maintaining a safe and consistent therapeutic relationship that will promote growth, insight, and breakthrough. Once this foundation is established, we will be able to co-create goals, objectives, and a clear plan to help you achieve the results you’re looking for!
My therapeutic approach consists of two main theoretical orientations —- Psychodynamic Theory & Existential Approach. Each of these views in psychology heavily influence how I view human behavior and therefore guide my treatment process. Psychodynamic Theory teaches that unresolved past conflicts influence present behavior and show up in our daily lives whether we are aware of it or not. These unresolved conflicts create unconscious thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that anchor our overall mental health. This leads to symptoms that impact our journey, along with our capacity to heal and grow. Insight into these conflicts is essential for gaining the awareness needed to maintain overall mental health.
The Existential Approach reminds us that, as human beings, we strive to define our moments and find meaning in our experiences. Naturally, we seek to make sense of the events that shape our lives, searching for purpose and understanding along the way. Through this journey, our perspectives evolve—we encounter anxiety, doubt, and questions of identity. Yet within this process of uncertainty lies the potential for transformation. As we navigate trauma, relationship challenges, or professional upheaval, we are called to realign our sense of self and move toward healing.
These foundations guide me in helping clients uncover unresolved conflicts and build greater self-awareness. Through our collaborative work, you’ll strengthen your ability to make choices that support your overall health and well-being. At times, specific needs or presenting concerns may call for additional approaches. When appropriate, I incorporate evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to address patterns or behaviors you wish to change. At MindAlign Therapy, my mission is to meet you where you are—to support your healing, enhance your mental health, and help you expand your capacity for life.
The first step is the most powerful one you can take—it starts the journey. I look forward to beginning it with you!
